In Hug-A-Beary Town, a new bear cub is born. But something seems different in the cub's health that draws the town closer to him and his family. Jeremiah is touched by a congenital heart defect (CHD). Dr. Toad helps to mend Jeremiah's broken heart so he can grow and strive to accomplish his goals.  Heartbeat Hippo, Rare Rabbit and Cardiac Crane provide support and encouragement along the way.

About the Author

Phillip Wolf knew he wanted to be a writer when he read his first Stephen King book at age twelve.  After recreating short stories from cartoon shows for fun, he knew a future career as a writer was becoming serious.  He completed a summer program through Writer’s Digest School and cranked out stories throughout high school for submission to magazines like Weird Tales, Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine, OMNI, and more.

With his love for B-horror movies, filmmaking later became an interest.  He returned to school for a video production degree after working in the retail industry over sixteen years.  Upon graduating from The Art Institute of Dallas, Wolf jumped right in and began his new journey into filmmaking as a writer, producer, director, and editor.  His technical skills led him to start his own video production company creating award-winning independent films, real estate videos and 3D tours around the country.

Two years prior to the pandemic, Wolf ventured into the live event industry as a supervisor, camera operator, and audio/video technician for corporate events.  He also worked with local crews building sets and running shows for major touring artists.

When the country shut down, Wolf took his creative skills to the next level and studied to become a certified commercial SUA pilot and added drone video/photography to his portfolio.

More recently, he returned to his roots of writing fiction.  He is wrapping the edit for his new young adult novel, “Whispers Through the Broken Window” projected to be released Winter 2021.

Wolf enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and two daughters.  He learned about CHDs when his first child, Jeremiah, was touched with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and underwent heart surgery at twelve hours old.  His son’s legacy continues through some of his writing and films.
