Making Time

Doesn't it seem as though all of us are WAY too busy? Do you find it hard to get everything on your To-Do List done in a day, week, or even year? I do!
I think it is precisely because we are so busy that we absolutely have to stop and make time for others. If we wait until the perfect time to meet up with others, we will never do it. There simply are not enough hours in a day to do all the things we are supposed to do, let alone time to do the things we want to do.
One of the things I want to do is to meet certain people. Some people come into our lives at a critical time and it feels like a God thing. It seems as though it was meant to be. It's a gift. Not acting on that gift is worse than "looking a gift-horse in the mouth" -- it's more akin to missing out on a miracle -- a gift from God.
When God brought Lisa Colvil, Amy M. Le, and Jenny Muscatell into my life, I felt blessed. Life as an author can be rather lonely. The writing can be exhilarating, frustrating, rewarding, and, confusing -- all at the same time! But the writing is the easy part. The hard part, for most authors, is getting our work out to the world. Developing this cooperative community online bookstore meant finding other Creatives who could work together to share messages of hope and healing to the world. It meant making new friends.
It meant ROAD TRIP! When Amy told me that she'd be speaking at a Vietnamese Night Market in Oklahoma City -- a mere 5 hour's drive away, there was no doubt in my mind that I would attend! When I proposed a road trip to my husband, not only was he delighted with the adventure, he shared it with some of our friends!
Next weekend we will be caravaning to Oklahoma City to attend our very first Vietnamese Night Market. We will watch a lion dance for the first time. But most importantly, we will meet Amy M. Le, listen to her speak, and give her a real hug. That's what 'making time' is all about.
